"Hispanic Heritage Month is annually celebrated in the United States from September 15th to October 15th. The honorary month is a time to commemorate the histories, cultures, and contributions of Latinx people whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America. Hispanic Heritage Week was first observed in 1968 under President Lyndon Johnson. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan expanded it to span 30 days.
To celebrate, we’ve rounded up 20 of the best new books from Latinx writers coming out this fall. From novels, cookbooks, children’s storybooks, memoirs, and poetry collections, many of these titles focus on themes relevant to current times such as immigration, LGBTQ+ rights, women’s empowerment, and more."
